National Dog Day was founded by pet lifestyle professional, Colleen Paige. She created this beloved day in 2004, and it has been getting stronger and stronger ever since. The purpose of this day (other than celebrating man’s best friends) is to raise awareness and money for dogs in need. The goal of this National day is to find a home for 10,000 homeless dogs each year. On top of this, this day raises celebrates dogs right to live a safe and protected life.
